Climate change protestors will disrupt the functioning of both Heathrow and Cardiff airports, travellers have been warned.

Protestors have camped outside of Heathrow in order to block its expansion through the building of a new Terminal 5, with hundreds more expected to join them throughout the week.

The campaign is expected to last for a week and include as much as 2,000 people as protestors are seeking to stop an expansion that they argue will contribute to climate change.

There have been conflicting reports that protestors planned to issue bomb hoaxes and disrupt terminals by disguising themselves as passengers, but these have so far been denied by the demonstrators.

Mark Bullock, managing director of BAA, operator of Heathrow airport, told the BBC he was 'extremely concerned' about the reports of possible disruptions to the airport.

And campaigners for the group Plane Stupid, banned from Heathrow airport, have said they would target other airports such as Cardiff, and have already managed to disrupt the delivery of a new Airbus A380 jumbo jet.

Make sure to get to the airport with plenty of time this summer, and be covered with the right travel insurance, call or check online for a quote on great value deals.
