A quarter of all new motorcycle registrations in May were for the 125cc class, indicating a healthy future for the industry, new research has shown.
Figures compiled by the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCI) revealed that new registration for smaller bikes stood at 24.7 per cent of all new applications during the month.
Those registering a new vehicle should also remember to take out comprehensive
motorbike insurance to get protected before they take to the roads.
MCI's Sheila Rainger commented: "Starting with the Met Office's confident forecast of a long hot summer and ending with the return of the controversial fuel duty escalator in September, the coming months will prove once again that there's never been a better time to make the switch to two wheels."
Those interested in purchasing a new scooter might be happy to learn that Suzuki has unveiled its new Burgman 400ZA model to commemorate ten years of production of the vehicle.
New features of the bike include ABS brakes, a wood-patterned instrument panel and a backrest for passengers.
