A couple who first visited Rome in 1956 have returned to the city as part of their 50th wedding anniversary celebrations, with the trip documented in the Times.

Whether travelling to mark an important anniversary or just for an annual summer break, holiday insurance is essential for tourists.

US couple Milton and Mary Lou Morris were living in Verona, Italy when they first took a trip to Rome.

As well as taking in Rome, they also travelled to Capri, Pisa, Milan and Venice.

Now, the couple have gone back to Italy to recapture their romantic youth - and have recreated their original holiday snaps for the newspaper.

Mr Morris told the Times that Europe was their favourite destination, but noted that times had changed since their first trip.

"Obviously, when we revisited Rome we jostled with more tourists than in 1956. Then, we strolled through the nearly deserted Pompeii streets," he commented.

Rome is home to a number of romantic holiday sites, such as the "Bridge of Love", the Ponte Milvio.

Holiday insurance from InsureandGo can provide the right level of cover for a love-filled Valentine's break to Europe.
