Fergie's maternal skills were evident on the Alpine slopes of Verbier as the Duchess took her two daughters Beatrice and Eugenie away to Switzerland for a winter break.

Fresh from winning Mother of the Year at ceremony in New York for the American Cancer Society, Prince Andrew's ex-wife was spotted chatting with her two children as they took to the pistes, reports Hello magazine.

Verbier is one of Europe's premiere ski resorts and as such, is often frequented by the stars.

But for those who are after a little more diversity than just the choice skiing and snowboarding, the Swiss town offers a range of activities suited to adventuring holidaymakers.

Among the winter sports on offer are heliskiing, paragliding, ice climbing, cross country skiing, snowshoe walking and tobogganing.

Meanwhile, when the snow has melted in the summer, the resort becomes a centre of outdoor adventure sports such as: hill walking, downhill mountain biking, horseriding, canyoning, mountain biking and rock climbing.
