UK holidaymakers might like to take out
travel insurance and visit the Science Museum in London after the attraction has been shortlisted for an award.
Nominated in the Best Family Venue category at the Rough Guide to Accessible Britain Awards, Kate Steiner, head of audience research and advocacy at the Science Museum, said staff are delighted by the recognition and she highlighted the museum's policies regarding deaf and disabled visitors as being second to none.
Ms Steiner commented: "We strive to ensure that the needs of people with disabilities are taken into account when designing services, so that we create an inclusive culture - where visitors can fully enjoy our collections, exhibitions and events."
According to the shortlist for the awards - which was published yesterday (February 24th) - other contenders in the family category include Legoland Windsor, South Devon Railway and Totnes Rare Breeds Farm, the Eden Project and the Alnwick Garden.
