An American artist hopes to raise awareness of the dangers of road debris to drivers through a series of sculptures on the subject.
Ken Andexler creates composite sculptures made out of the very debris he would like to see away from the road, such as pieces of pipe, sheet metal, plastic buckets and traffic barricades.
These pieces of debris and junk can be tossed or thrown from cars or lorries and cause serious damage to other motorists.
A notable victim of debris was film director Alan J. Pakula, whose films included All the President's Men, who died as a result of a falling pipe dropped by a lorry on New York's Long Island Expressway.
Mr Andexler, originally a graphic artist, used to pick out debris from the road to try and prevent possible accidents when one day he decided to create sculptures out of what he had collected, which he is currently parading for schoolchildren in his local state of Florida.
"It's my contribution to society in a sense," said Mr Andexler.
Make sure to avoid possible obstacles on the road while driving and to have the appropriate
car insurance.
