Security can be a key factor in determining
car insurance premium costs; therefore, anyone wishing to purchase a secure vehicle might be interested in the Seat Ibiza.
The Ibiza has been awarded the top prize at the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards, run by Thatcham - the Motor Industry Repair Research Centre - in Berkshire.
Both the five-door and sports coupe version of the vehicle shared the top spot and this is the first time that Seat has won the top honour in these prestigious national awards.
The judges commended the Ibiza's excellent security features, giving the vehicle five stars in Thatcham's new vehicle security register 'Theft Of' category.
Vehicles which are rated as having high security features could enjoy lower car insurance premiums than other models.
Head of Seat UK Peter Wyhinny said: "The new Ibiza range is, as expected, proving to be even more popular than its predecessor becoming in the process among the most desirable and sought-after cars in its class."
Meanwhile, the Audi A8 was recently awarded What Car?'s Green Award for the second year in a row.
The vehicle picked up the Green Luxury Card Award due to the use of its innovative hybrid diesel/petrol-electric engine and its low levels of emissions - 199g/km of CO2.
