Tourists eager to enjoy fresh air may welcome the news that Four Points by Sheraton and Sheraton Hotels & Resorts brands plans to ban smoking at over 300 facilities across the USA, Canada and Caribbean.
According to the Associated Press, the move will see 8,000 rooms at the facilities cleaned - including treatment of walls, rugs, upholstery, hard surfaces and air conditioning systems.
Smoking will be banned in communal areas inside the hotels, but there will be a designated external area for those who wish to light up.
Currently, there are 70 hotels across the two brands throughout these regions that are smoke-free.
Meanwhile, hotel firm Travelodge recently announced that it has designed state-of-the-art pyjamas to help regulate guests' body temperatures.
