Singapore Airlines will launch the first historic flights with its A380 superjumbo in late October.
The airline's A380 will be the first time the superjumbo model takes to the sky, with its first commercial flight to take place on October 25th, and travellers being able to use the service on October 28th.
But there will be some early passengers, as an Australian businessman has agreed to pay about £50,000 for seats on the first commercial flights, Singapore Airlines said on Thursday.
Sydney businessman Julian Hayward got two tickets for his money to take part in the inaugural flight that will fly from Singapore to his hometown Sydney.
'It's been so long since we've had an aeronautical feat of engineering
I'm extremely excited to have the opportunity to be the first ever passenger on such a large feat of engineering,' Mr Hayward told news agency AFP.
The inaugural flight has sold over 600 seats with only 24 places remaining.
Singapore Airlines will be the first airline to fly what is the biggest superjumbo model.
