Austria will host the largest gay ski week in the Alps in the run-up to Easter, with 500 men expected to attend.

ManMountain claims to be the ideal winter haven for gay skiers as it concentrates as much on the 'apres ski' activities as it does on the pistes themselves.

Those attending the event at Soelden, in west Austria's Otztal Valley will not only enjoy the multitude of ski runs on the mountains but also the nightlife, where London guest DJs will play in some of the town's many clubs and bars.

For those after a more relaxed holiday, many of the town's hotels offer pampering and sauna facilities as the area is renowned for its steam baths, tanning beds and thermal pools.

In addition, there is a brand new AquaDome spa centre at nearby Langenfeld, which can occupy non-skiers for many hours.

But the slopes themselves will be the main attraction: Soelden is an Alpine World Cup venue that has 150km of pistes, three mountains over 3,000m high and can guarantee snow cover right up until May.

The event runs from March 24th to 31st.
