Planned strike action at Gatwick and Stansted airports next weekend could disrupt the travel plans of up to 1.3 million people, according to the Times.
Both airports will apparently see two 24-hour walkouts by baggage handling staff, on August 25th and August 29th, after workers rejected a pay offer.
Gatwick airport expects to handle some 120,000 passengers on August 25th, with the most popular destinations for those jetting off over the Bank Holiday include Palma de Mallorca, Alicante and Malaga, according to the Times.
Virgin Atlantic, Monarch, Thomson Fly and First Choice are among those who reportedly may be affected by the strike.
Unite, the union which represents the striking workers, said that the 318 Gatwick workers who will apparently be taking part in the walkouts turned down the pay offer as it was below the rate of inflation.
According to the Express and Star the RAC is urging people to allow 50 per cent more than usual for journey times this weekend, when an estimated 18 million cars will be on the country's roads.
