Increasing numbers of holidaymakers are rejecting a relaxing week away in favour of something involving a little more adrenaline.

So claims travelbite.co.uk, which has asserted that adventure holidays are one of the fastest-growing markets in the travel industry at the present time.

Suggesting that such trips appeal to many because they can be life-altering, the firm highlights the sheer variety of options available to the intrepid traveller.

Those heading off on such a trip might enjoy physical feats, such as rafting or climbing - but those with a slightly more sedate break in mind might strike a pleasant balance with the likes of camel-trekking through the Gobi Desert.

"It can also encompass cultural adventures such as travelling by public transport in remote or undeveloped destinations," the firm states.

Meanwhile, Eurocamp has suggested that an active holiday can be beneficial in getting the whole family to enjoy physical exercise and investigate new interests.

Those embarking on an activity holiday should ensure they have adequate travel insurance.

Whatever adventurous undertakings holidaymakers have planned, they could benefit from travel insurance provided by InsureandGo which provides products covering a wide variety of activities.
