London drivers are getting better at sticking to the rules and curbing their vices, Transport for London (TfL) said on Wednesday.
A new report by TfL showed that better driving in London had seen observance of parking and traffic regulations improve by as much as 35 per cent.
The report by TfL was based on the Capital's Red Route network, which carries a third of London's traffic and covers five per cent of the city's roads.
It revealed that illegal parking, the blocking of yellow box junctions and the making of banned turns had all been reduced in the past year.
'This is good news for motorists in London. Tackling motorists that yellow box junctions and make illegal turns is making our roads safer for all road users, including pedestrians and cyclists,' said Patrick Troy, head of traffic enforcement.
The report's data showed that illegal parking had dropped by 35 per cent, the number of motorists making banned turns by 32 per cent and bus lane enforcement was now 38 per cent lower than a year ago.
