History buffs have a new way to take a look at American heritage with the Virginia Road to Revolution.
Signage marking the route has been unveiled in the state, with major landmarks from the life of Virginia's first governor, Patrick Henry, highlighted along its length.
A total of ten sites are indicated as part of the Road to Revolution, including St John's Church in Richmond.
This was the location where Henry delivered his speech including the infamous line "give me liberty, or give me death".
Henry's birthplace of Studley is also included on the route, along with his last home at Red Hill Plantation, bookending his lifetime effectively.
Alisa Bailey, president and chief executive officer of the Virginia Tourism Corporation, says: "Trails such as this are effective ways to entice visitors to Virginia and share the state's unique and diverse history and culture."
The American Revolution saw 13 North American colonies unite to break free of British rule, resulting in the formation of the United States of America.
