With the British autumn officially underway, the Guardian has advised that a spot of sun can be found in Sharm el Sheikh.

The Times notes that upon touching down in the Egyptian city's new airport, holidaymakers will find themselves ten minutes away from sun-drenched beaches on the Red Sea.

Indeed, for those who want guaranteed rays, it is worth noting that the last time the region saw heavy rainfall was more than seven years ago.

"You can fly and flop without feeling guilty - no cars to hire, no quaint villages to discover, just sun, sea and hundreds of miles of barren, beautiful desert," the paper advises.

It is also comparatively cheap, with a week-long stay at a five-star hotel usually costing around £550, less than half the equivalent cost in Dubai.

According to Sharmguide.com, tourists can find also find more intimate hotels as well as the larger developments boasting casinos and nightclubs.

InsureandGo offers convenient travel insurance options for those keen to get away from the autumnal weather.
