The construction of a third runway has been approved at Heathrow, meaning the airport could see more holidaymakers getting
travel insurance and taking a trip pass through its doors.
Travellers flying overseas might be wise to make sure their
holiday insurance policy will offer them cover should unexpected events interrupt the break.
Despite some protests, the government has approved the runway plans, saying they are essential for British business and the economy.
Chief executive of BAA Colin Matthews said that the two existing runways were overloaded and that more capacity was needed to provide passengers with a good service.
Transport secretary Geoff Hoon said that if no steps were taken to expand Heathrow, it would give other hub airports chance to gain extra capacity.
"Doing nothing will damage our economy and have no impact whatsoever on climate change," he commented.
InsureandGo travel insurance is a low-cost way of making sure that any glitches on a trip are covered at little financial cost to the holidaymaker.
