Travel firm Thomas Cook has announced that tourists using its services will now be flying on its brand new airline.

Its maiden voyage will take passengers from East Midlands Airport to Monastir in Tunisia, with 28 summer hot spots and 15 winter destinations served by the carrier.

Those travelling onboard long-haul flights will be able to enjoy a great selection of movies, the company states, while for shorter trips there will be two films available to allow cabin crew to meet viewing preferences.

As well as shopping services, passengers will be offered blankets, while flyers in the premium cabins will be able to enjoy duvet quilts.

Frank Pullman, managing director of Thomas Cook Airlines, said: "We're very pleased to have our new airline ready for take-off from East Midlands Airport, enabling us to serve the people of the east Midlands even more effectively during the all-important summer season this year."

The company states that it is reducing the price of millions of holidays for those travelling in the coming summer months.

InsureandGo offer travel insurance policies to cater for those flying from all major UK airports.
