Norfolk Constabulary is warning again for homeowners to make their sheds secure, after one household failed to heed its earlier advice.
The police force has been warning for weeks that shed thefts are more common in the warmer, lighter summer months, but that simple steps can help to make items harder to steal.
However, last week saw fishing equipment and bicycles stolen from a garage and two sheds.
The constabulary reiterates its advice to padlock items to heavy anchors or to each other, making them harder to carry away.
Sergeant Graham White of the Hethersett and Mulbarton Safer Neighbourhood Team says: "I would like to remind people to check their sheds and garages are secure at all times.
"Vigilance at this time is important and I would encourage anyone to report anything suspicious."
Effective security measures can also help to make sure that
home insurance policies pay out if items are stolen, as they may not be protected if left in an unlocked outbuilding.
InsureandGo can provide home insurance to protect against the financial impact of theft.
