The returning traveller dreaming of his or her next foreign adventure has received help in the form of a new guide.

Lonely Planet's Bluelist is a coffee table-sized publication full of ideas on where to go and what to see in 2007.

It pitches itself as more of an inspiration for the traveller rather than a handy guide to be stored in the backpack.

One of the key features of the book is the Go List chapter, which provides a detailed run down of the most exciting and interesting new things to do in each of the world's countries as well as lists of important events and festivals.

Also included in the book is a top ten list of travel activities throughout the globe and a section devoted to unusual and dangerous foods that can be found on your travels.

Of the many other subsections, some of the most useful discuss the best-value destinations, the countries with the most dramatic seasonal changes and, vitally, the world's most atmospheric bars.
