Holidaymakers will soon be allowed back into Tibet, reports the People's Daily Online, after riots interrupted the tourist industry.

It is said that "normal social order has been restored, and the social security environment has been improved," which could interest those planning a trip to the country.

Tourists have already been welcomed in the shape of domestic tour groups, which are currently operating, with foreign tourists set to be allowed back into the country "as soon as possible".

Online resource Visit-himalaya.com recommends visiting Tibet in late spring through to early autumn, in order to get the best weather and make the most of the landscape.

Travellers interested in trekking may interested in specific holidays, although skiers and mountain bikers are also catered for - alongside nature lovers looking to soak up the environment in the area.

It may well be wise for consumers to consider taking out comprehensive travel insurance from InsureandGo, in case of accident while away from home.
