Police in South Yorkshire have cracked a ring of car thieves due to one of the stolen vehicles being fitted with a tracking device.

A stolen Land Rover which had been fitted with a Tracker signal emitter was pinpointed at a property in Kiverton Park, Rotherham, where police also found three other stolen vehicles that were in the process of being broken down for parts.

PC Wood of South Yorkshire police commented: "If it hadn't been for the Tracker device fitted to the Land Rover we may well have not found that vehicle or the other stolen vehicles. One man has been arrested and our enquiries are ongoing."

Elsewhere, Toyota GB recently announced car insurance premiums should not be affected for owners of vehicles that are recalled by the manufacturer.

The Association of British Insurers added any claims will be dealt with in the normal manner, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the policy.
