The Association of British Travellers has "generally welcomed" the findings of a Commons committee on air travellers published on Thursday.
The Transport Select Committee's report, Passengers Experience of Air Travel, was carried out to address specific frustrations by air travellers and put forward a list of recommendations to airlines to better the experience.
ABTA welcomed the report's recommendation that airlines should be more transparent in its pricing, always making sure to properly advertise additional fees, taxes and up-front charges to its customers, both online and in print.
According to the industry body, this was a recommendation that it had ensured its own members would follow before the report was published.
The Committee also reflected ABTA's own wishes for reform in recommending mandatory arrangement for financial protection of air travellers regardless of whether they book a package holiday or make independent arrangements.
'Air travel is at the heart of the travel industry's business and it is important for ABTA Members that they can reassure customers and build confidence in flying.
'This report has made a number of important recommendations and we hope the government takes seriously,' said David Marshall, ABTA's head of communications and policy.
