For those planning on visiting Cardiff this weekend for the Heineken Cup final, planning journeys ahead of time has been advised.

Cardiff Council has urged the 74,000 people expected to attend the clash between Munster and Toulouse at the Millennium Stadium to arrive early and take into account the road closures which will be in effect.

Park and ride services and group travel are identified as cost-effective options for those looking to save on the costs of keeping a vehicle safe while they watch the game.

The council explains that park and ride sites are accessible from J33 of the M4, with drivers advised to follow the signage to the available site at the time of their arrival.

Fans are also advised that spectator coaches will also be leaving from Bristol and Birmingham airports.

A full road closure will be in effect from 15:00 BST until 20:00 BST, with full details available online via the News Wales website.

Yesterday, Munster announced their full 26 man squad for the game.

InsureandGo offers a range of car insurance options for those looking to ensure their vehicle is covered while travelling.
