The culture and tourism minister of Turkey has stated that the country should have a national museum that would attract tourists from across the globe.

Ertugurl Gunay stated that he also wished to increase the number of other cultural attractions as well as events that take place in the city.

He added that, ideally, the museum would be so expansive it would take more than one visit to see everything in it.

"My dream is founding a 'Museum of Great Turkey', a museum that will cover the entire history of Turkey. All the civilizations in Anatolia, the pre-Islamic and the post-Islamic era, the Seljuk dynasty and the Byzantine Empire," he told Today's Zaman.

Established attractions in the country include Riza Cavus thermal baths and religious sites such as Haghia Shophia.

Consumers wishing to visit cultural attractions, alongside any other pursuits, on their holidays may find that they benefit from investing in comprehensive yet cheap travel insurance from InsureandGo.
