Nearly 100 hotels are expected to be built in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by the year 2010.

Such is the claim of Frederic Theux, president of Reed Exhibitions, which is due to host an exhibition on the hotel industry in Abu Dhabi next year.

The addition of the accommodation will create a combined capacity of over 30,600 rooms, Mr Theux adds.

However, he explains that accommodation is not the only area that is receiving investment.

"The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority is implementing an aggressive tourism development strategy including the establishment of world class tourist attractions such as the Louvre and Guggenheim museums on Saadiyat Island."

Established tourist attractions in the UAE include Dubai Museum, the Bastakia Quarter and Wild Wadi water park.
