Car insurance
comparison service Tescocompare.com has unveiled its map of UK motoring trends based on quotes from over 500,000 vehicles.

The group suggests that geography can indeed play a part in what car people choose to drive. Its study reports that the most popular county for Ford vehicles is Essex, with Chelmsford having 50 per cent more than the national average.

Ford also takes the top spot for overall favourite in England, although its popularity diminishes north of the border, where Vauxhall was found to be preferred in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Paul Baxter, spokesperson for Tescocompare.com, said: "Whatever car you drive and wherever you live, you need to insure your car against theft and damage."

The group has also announced that it welcomes recent government proposals to overhaul testing standards for learning UK motorists, stating that drivers are more likely to be involved in an accident in the first two years of passing their tests.

InsureandGocar insurance searches the market to find the most suitable level of cover for individual vehicles.
