VisitBritain has announced it will make a final push this summer to promote Britain's countryside as a holiday destination.
The government pledged it would provide 75 per cent of the funding for a £1 million drive.
Elliot Frisby, corporate PR manager for VisitBritain, told BBC Radio 4's 'Farming Today' program, said the national tourism agency would make a final push after floods, foot and mouth disease and security alerts had affected the countryside in June and July.
Mr Frisby wanted to encourage "those people who haven't booked their holidays or haven't yet decided what they are going to do for the August bank holiday," to consider opting for the British countryside.
The countryside was still attracting large numbers but it was vital to get the last of the undecided holidaymakers in August.
Even with only tree weeks left in the last month of the summer, the drive "could make a lot of difference," said Mr Frisby.
VisitBritain already has two promotional campaigns ready, with one currently underway, he further added.
