Brits have been they could have the trip of a lifetime by taking out
holiday insurance for a visit to Alaska.
Jacqi Todd, UK representative for Alaska Travel Industry Association, said Alaska is a very special place but cannot be reached directly from the UK, and as such, people need to plan carefully how they are going to get about in the state, while taking different modes of transport could also help to personalise their experience.
She commented: "It's got to be a special trip, you've got to budget for it and you've got to save for it and then it will be very worthwhile, but it will never be on the cheap end."
According to the US Travel Association's Marketing Outlook Forum, tourism is down in all segments in the country.
Experts at the forum predicted that although declines in travel are now "bottoming out", it could take up to two years before any real improvements are seen.
InsureandGo offers holiday insurance for Brits planning an Alaskan getaway.
