Wooden flooring can completely alter the aesthetic of a home and bring its look up-to-date, according to the Denbighshire Free Press.

Carpet is often seen as last century's choice for floors and was particularly popular in the 60s and 70s.

The practicality of solid wood or laminate flooring has made it the most widely used material in new homes.

Keeping wood floors clean is naturally much easier than having to tend to a carpet, as there is no need to spend time spraying stain remover on a mark that will never come out or vacuuming up immovable bits of fluff.

The news provider believes wooden floors can uplift a tired or lived-in home and describes them as "perfect for any new homeowners wanting to get into a bit of home improvement and really add value to their home, regardless of the style of the house."

According to the news provider, wooden floors have a life expectancy of around 60 years and are thick and strongly supported so that they can withstand regular use.
