A holiday website has published a poll of the world's best - and worst - cruise lines.
Cruise.co.uk surveyed more than 12,000 people in the poll, with each line rated on food, entertainment, shore excursions, staff, facilities for children, activities on board and standard of cabins.
Such holidays can be popular with the retired, who have time to sail off into the sunset for weeks on end.
Travellers could find that a specific
over 65s insurance policy could meet their needs better than standard
holiday insurance cover.
Coming top of the poll was Cunard, with a rating of 4.36 out of five. Royal Caribbean also did well, scoring 4.15, reports the Telegraph.
Princess Cruises and Thomson Cruises scored 4.08 and 4.06 respectively.
It was recently reported that 2009 was set to be "the year of the cruise", with UK communications manager for Cruise Critic Ian Rumgay saying that such holidays need not be expensive.
InsureandGo offers great value over 65s insurance which could be ideal for retirees looking to relax on a long cruise.
