Brits who are getting holiday insurance and jetting off for a break are often choosing to take holidays which could help their wellbeing.

Instead of picking a holiday based on destination, some travellers with holiday insurance are opting to take trips which include yoga, pilates or meditation.

Krissy Roe, from responsibletravel.com, said that more people were taking intensive yoga holidays, with the popularity of yoga classes in the UK cited as a reason.

"The yoga holidays do particularly well. There's been an increase, more generally, in people taking up yoga classes in the UK and the chance to do an intensive week of yoga is quite appealing," she said.

Responsibletravel.com reports an increase of 121 per cent in "holistic and wellbeing" holidays year on year.

Managing director of the site Justin Francis comments that holidays which involve yoga, pilates, meditation, spas or holistics could remind travellers of "the more important things in life".

InsureandGotravel insurance can cover any type of break, from a relaxing yoga holiday in an exotic location to a domestic break in the UK.
