Yoga practitioners from all over the world will be heading to Egypt this month for the country's second International Yoga Festival.

The event, which will feature workshops, lectures and classes on the meditation practice, will take place in Taba Heights on the southern Sinai Peninsula.

The area was chosen due to the fact that its serene coral beaches and calming natural reserves reflect the objectives of yoga.

Chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Authority Ahmed El Khadem said: "Egypt is honoured to host such a unique event for the second time in Sinai.

"It is an excellent opportunity for Egypt to promote the beauty and serenity of the Red Sea while attracting a different segment of tourism that is interested in the mystical world of yoga."

This year's festival is dubbed Unity in Diversity: Return to the Light and will take place between March 24th and 31st.
