Students aged between 16 and 19 are the targets of a new Driving Standards Agency (DSA) scheme aimed at improving safety on the roads.
When getting their first car, it is important that young motorists do not forget to get car tax and
car insurance for the vehicle.
The DSA is set to give a number of presentations throughout the UK during this month's half term.
The "Arrive Alive" talk is a 50-minute presentation and includes techniques on how to drive safely, advice on taking a driving rest and how drivers should behave on the roads once qualified.
Rosemary Thew from the DSA said that the group was calling on parents, teachers and guardians to think about booking one of the sessions.
"It is a sad fact that one in five deaths on British roads involve newly qualified drivers," she commented.
Taking an advanced driving course could help young drivers feel more confident behind the wheel.
