The threat of the swine flu pandemic is insufficient to make Britons put their travel plans on hold, it has been claimed.
At present, all holidaymakers are advised by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office to ensure that their travel insurance includes medical cover before leaving the country.
But Sharron Livingston, editor of The Travel Magazine, suggests that many Britons are too keen to bag a bargain to remain at home during the recession.
"The British are renowned as being keen travellers - especially if the price is right," she says.
