UK animal owners have been advised of the need to have comprehensive pet insurance in place, as technological advances in veterinary medicine mean many treatments are becoming more expensive.
Ian Moffat, Petplan's head of operations, said advancements in medicine now mean vets are able to treat sick or injured pets that simply would not have survived ten years ago.
