Obese children 'at greater risk of heart disease'

Children as young as three could be at an increased risk of heart disease because of their weight, a new study has shown.

Dr David Haslam, chair of the National Obesity Forum, said research carried out in the US has provided a link between childhood obesity and the onset of cardiovascular complaints in people as they get older.

He commented: "There needs to be more changes, particularly in the management of kids who are already obese.
