What should travellers with medical conditions be mindful of when planning a trip?
“Health systems vary worldwide. In some countries, you may see a specialist directly, while others require you to consult a General Practitioner (GP) or family physician first. Most GPs can diagnose and treat common conditions or refer you appropriately. In some countries, antibiotics can be purchased without a prescription, but in most, a prescription is required. Accessing care may involve private doctors, as public health systems often only serve residents except in emergencies.”
