Healthcare in Sierra Leone

Public and private healthcare services are available in Sierra Leone. However, the facilities are generally in quite poor condition with this being one of the poorest countries in the world. Make sure you have adequate medical travel insurance including repatriation in place, so you can rest assured knowing you’re covered should anything unfortunate happen while abroad.

It’s important to make sure you speak to your GP at least 4 to 6 weeks prior to travel to check whether there are any vaccinations or other preventatives needed.
