In Split, Croatia, there is a statue that is meant to give people good luck. The statue is of Gregory of Nin (Croatian: Grgur Ninski) who was quite the legend back in his day.
Like many Brits, I simply cannot function properly in the morning until I’ve had at least two cups of this caffeinated nectar.
I have been fascinated by bottlenose dolphins since I was in the womb. Well, I can’t actually remember that far back so I don’t really have any idea what I was thinking about or doing, if I’m completely honest. I was probably too busy doing the backstroke or playing football, if what my mum told me was true!
One of the videos we used for our TV adverts since last year was a lovely train, slowly moving along a track. We knew it was pretty, and that it captured the serene feeling you get when you’re on holiday somewhere pretty, but we didn’t know just how popular it was going to be!
I grew up in a small village, just outside of Southend-on-Sea. It’s a nice village; small and quiet, although not too far from a town. I knew a lot of people there as most of my family have lived there for many years, but I’d regularly see strangers who I’d never met or seen and they’d say things like “good morning, have a nice day!” I never quite got used to this, as I could never appreciate their greetings early in the morning.

During festival season in Catalonia, you may come across humans climbing all over each other. Castell, which unsurprisingly translates to “castle”, is a tradition that goes back to 1712, and is probably more popular now than ever.
Whether your love of cheese only extends to a mild cheddar or you’re a cheese connoisseur, you might want to look out for these cheeses on your travels. You never know, you may expand your taste buds and discover a maggot-ridden fromage to adorn your pizza instead of traditional mozzarella!
A lot of children dream of spending their Easter break continuously eating chocolate, and searching high and low for the Easter bunny. Whilst that sounds like a pretty cool way to relax for a few days (especially the constant chocolate eating bit) nothing is as cool as spending your Easter Monday with your nation’s president (But I guess that depends on the president…)
