Do I need a visa for Hong Kong?
You don’t need a visa for travelling to Hong Kong for up to six months. If you’re planning on staying for longer than six months, or wish to work or study in Hong Kong, then you’ll need to apply for a visa.
You can contact the nearest Chinese mission with visa issuing facilities, or the Hong Kong Immigration Department (Immigration Tower, 7 Gloucester Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong; telephone: 2824 4055) for more information.
If you want to visit China from Hong Kong, you can get a Shenzen visa which is specific to the city of Shenzen at the Hong Kong-Shenzen border.
If you are travelling to mainland China from Hong Kong, you should get a Chinese visa before arriving at the border from your nearest visa application centre.
Healthcare in Hong Kong
The healthcare services in Hong Kong are of a very good standard and are widely spread throughout Hong Kong. However, medical treatments are expensive, and you may be required to pay your bill on departure. Make sure you have enough money to cover any potential costs, as well as adequate travel insurance to cover any medical treatments and possible repatriation.
