Cricket travel insurance

Cricket can be a potentially risky sport, with bowling speeds of up to 100mph and all the additional dangers presented by swinging bats.

That said, generally the sport is easy-going and we’re happy to provide cover for cricket under all our policies, alongside automatic cover for over 50 other sports and activities including insurance for hiking and cycling!

Whether you play often or not, you can rest assured knowing that you won’t need to worry about getting additional extreme sports travel insurance for cricket. As always terms and conditions apply, so check the policy wording for full details of this and the other activities we cover.

We can cover your kids for free!

If you’re going away with your children, we can cover them on your policy at no extra charge, whether you buy an annual policy or single trip cover.

What is included with cricket insurance?

As cricket comes under all our policies as one of 50 amazing adventure sports and activities, covered as standard, you’ll hit a six knowing that you’re covered for:

  • Medical expenses and hospital benefit
  • Personal accident and liability
  • Cancelling and cutting short your holiday
  • Abandoning your trip
  • Delayed departure
  • Accommodation cover
  • Personal belongings and baggage
  • Personal money, passport and travel documents
  • Legal expenses

Will my cricket bat be insured?

While cricket is automatically covered under all our travel insurance policies, sports equipment can be expensive, so if you’re travelling with yours it’s important that it’s fully insured.  All our policies include cover for valuables, including sports equipment, so make sure you choose the right level of cover for your needs. If your cricket bat is particularly expensive, you can even add extended valuables cover to your policy, which covers up to £1,000 per item – see our policy wordings for more details.

Cricket safety tips

Don’t let an accident on the first day ruin the whole week; remember a few simple tips and ensure a great time playing cricket on holiday.

  1. Make sure to use a cricket type head guard with appropriate body protection
  2. Make sure a first aider is on hand to deal with any sudden emergencies
  3. Choose the right travel insurance policy for you, get a quote online or read our policy documents for more information on our travel insurance that includes cover for cricket.

Please note: ‘Cricket travel insurance’ is a general term for cover included within our standard travel insurance. We don’t offer specialist insurance cover for this specific activity.
