Annual travel insurance could save you time and money if you’re going away more than once this year. Jet off as many times as you like without worrying about getting insured for each trip. That’s one less thing to think about when planning your next holiday!
What is annual insurance, and do you need it?
Annual multi-trip travel insurance is one policy that covers you for every trip you take over 12 months. It gives you a whole year of protection on your holidays, meaning you’re covered if you have a medical emergency or someone steals your belongings.
Tick it off your to-do list for a whole year. Sort it once, and you don’t have to think about it again for 12 months. Plan unlimited trips within your chosen region. You’ll be covered on your yearly holiday insurance as long as your circumstances haven’t changed.
The more you travel, the more you save. If you’re planning more than one trip this year, you could save time and money with annual travel insurance. Going away lots? The cost per trip will work out as even less!
Tailor your policy to you and your trip. Our policies already cover over 100 sports and activities. If you’re doing something a little bit different, you can add extra cover for activities like extreme sports, cruises and golf.
Enjoy unlimited adventures. From a last-minute weekend away to a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Trips within your chosen policy area are covered as long as they are no longer than our duration limit.
Annual holiday insurance works by providing cover for multiple trips over a one-year period. Buy your policy before you travel, and you don’t have to let us know when you set off on your next adventure. You’ll only need to get in touch if your medical situation changes or if you want to travel outside of your chosen area.
If you do need to make a claim when you’re away, the policy remains in place for any future trips within the 12 months it covers.
What does InsureandGo’s annual travel insurance cover?
Plus our annual European holiday insurance even includes some countries outside of Europe! You’ll be covered for countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea, Madeira, the Azores and more. See below for the full list
What’s not covered?
We strive to provide as much cover as possible. However, there are some situations that no travel insurance will cover. For example:
You cannot cover events or reasons to claim that took place before you booked the trip or purchased insurance. Insurance exists to cover unexpected events outside of the insured’s control
Claims which are less than the excess for that section of cover. For example, you cannot claim a £40 lost item if your baggage excess is £60
All of our travel insurance policies include cover for cancellation of your trip, but there may be some exclusions. For example, you won’t be covered to cancel if you simply decide not to go
We will consider all pre-existing medical conditions, find out more about medical travel insurance. The excess and the amount of cover available will vary depending on the level of travel insurance you buy. Annual travel insurance with pre-existing medical condition cover
You must declare your pre-existing medical conditions when you buy annual multi-trip travel insurance. We will ask you some simple medical screening questions to determine your quote.
If you don’t declare your medical conditions and anything happens related to that condition while you’re abroad, you won’t be covered and may be liable for the medical costs.
Please get in touch as soon as possible if your health changes while your annual travel insurance policy is active. For full details, read your policy documents.
How to book your annual multi-trip travel insurance
We know your to-do list for your next holiday can be long. That’s why we make getting annual travel insurance as simple as possible:
1 . Share a little info about your trips
This includes who you want to cover and when you want the policy to start. We will also ask you about any pre-existing medical conditions.
It’s quick and easy to give us this information, either online or by calling our team:
Once we have all the details we need, we will show you your quote. At this stage, you can go ahead and buy your policy, or save the quote for the future.
Our experts say…
“If you’re planning to go away more than once this year, an annual travel insurance policy could be just what you need. It can save you time and money and means you’re ready for any last-minute trips with no added hassle to sort your cover. With cancellation cover, over 100 sports and activities included, and our 24/7 emergency medical helpline, you get all the benefits of a single trip policy for a full year of adventures.”
Is annual travel insurance cheaper than single trip?
If you’re planning on going away more than once in the coming year, it’s often more cost-effective to choose an annual multi-trip travel insurance policy. It covers multiple trips within a 12-month period, which can save you money and time.
However, if you’ve only got one holiday planned, our single trip travel insurance may be the better fit, offering flexible cover just for that trip.
Not sure which to choose? Get a quick quote for both and see what works best for you.
When does annual travel insurance start?
Annual travel insurance covers you from the date you choose when buying the policy. Unlike a single trip policy, which covers cancellation from the moment of purchase.
We recommend starting the policy as soon as you have booked your trip, or as soon as your current policy expires. This makes sure that you’re covered for cancellations and any unexpected issues that could arise before you head off.
Does annual travel insurance automatically renew?
Once you’ve had your travel insurance for a year, we’ll make sure you stay covered by automatically renewing your policy, unless you ask us not to.
We’ll write to you at least 21 days before the renewal date, and tell you about any changes to the premium or the policy terms and conditions. If you don’t want your policy to auto-renew, contact us. You can tell us about any changes to your details or opt out of automatic renewal at any time.
Can I cancel my annual travel insurance policy?
If you decide the policy isn’t right for you, you can cancel your annual travel insurance during the ‘cooling-off’ period. You must write (either by email or letter) to us within 14 days of buying your policy or the date you receive your policy documents, whichever is later.
If you haven’t travelled on the policy or made a claim, cancelling within 14 days means we will refund the policy in full.
How much does annual travel insurance cost?
The cost of an annual travel insurance policy depends on many factors, including:
An annual travel insurance policy will last 365 days, covering unlimited trips to your chosen region. Find out how long each trip can be below.
How long can I stay abroad on an annual policy?
Each individual trip can last up to 31 days for Budget policies, 45 days for Silver and Gold policies, and up to 55 days per trip for Black policies. If you want to be abroad longer than this, you’ll need our long-stay travel insurance.
How many times can I travel on an annual policy?
As many times as you like! Our annual travel insurance covers you for unlimited trips over the one year period. Don’t forget, there’s a limit on how long each trip can be: 31 days for Budget policies, 45 days for Silver and Gold policies, and up to 55 days for Black policies.
How many times can I claim on annual travel insurance?
Under your policy, you will be protected on each trip you take. This allows you to submit a claim each time you travel, regardless of the number of trips you’ve taken, or if you’ve previously claimed on this policy before.
Does annual family travel insurance cover individuals?
Yes, all adults on a yearly family travel insurance policy can travel independently. Meaning you can use the same policy to cover trips without your family within the same region. Children under 18 need to be travelling with an adult named on the same policy as them in order to be covered.
Does annual travel insurance cover cancellation?
Yes, all of our annual multi trip insurance policies cover cancellation of your trip, up to £10,000 per person on Black policies, for certain reasons outside of your control.
You cannot claim if you cancel because you changed your mind and don’t want to travel, but you may be able to claim if you cancel due to a medical condition following the advice of a medical professional.
Please read our policy documents for more information and full details of what is and isn’t included under cancellation cover.
Is a GHIC card enough to cover annual travel insurance?
It’s important to also have travel insurance in place for your trip. Global Health Insurance Cards (GHIC) do not cover all medical costs, including medical repatriation, and the scheme doesn’t include all countries.
Travel insurance will also provide protection for things like unexpected cancellation of your trip, legal expenses or the loss or theft of your belongings. Buying a travel insurance policy, even when going on holiday in a country covered by the GHIC card, is recommended for these reasons.
Who can buy an InsureandGo annual multi-trip policy?
All our annual travel insurance policies are available to UK residents. This means:
Someone who has been living in the UK or the Channel Islands for at least six of the last 12 months
