Do I need to declare asthma on my travel insurance?

Yes, you will need to declare any pre-existing medical conditions you might have. If you do not disclose your medical history, then you may find that you’re not covered when you need it most. Less serious conditions, such as mild asthma, will most likely have no extra cost - but must still be declared during the medical screening process.

Our online screening process makes declaring your conditions to us quick and easy. So get a quote online or contact us.

What does travel insurance for asthma sufferers cover?

If you were to have an asthma attack, or your inhaler becomes lost or stolen while you're on holiday, our travel insurance will cover you for the cost of medical treatment abroad, and a replacement inhaler.

All of our travel insurance policies cover a number of great features as standard, including:

  • Holiday cancellation cover
  • Belongings and baggage cover
  • Passport, money and documents cover
  • Delayed departure cover
  • Personal accident cover
  • Accommodation cover
  • Cover for over 50 sports and activities
  • Medical and hospital expenses cover

For more information about what's covered with travel insurance for people with asthma, have a read of our policy documents or contact us.

Will travel insurance cost me more if I have asthma?

Using our quick online or over-the-phone medical screening process will let you know if there will be any additional charges associated with your condition. Asthma will often be included at no extra cost when the condition is not severe and well-managed. You must declare this to us, even when it doesn’t affect the cost of your insurance – otherwise you might not be covered in the event of associated respiratory issues while away.
